Alicia Silverstone Quits TV Show Over Britney Guest Spot?

Alicia Silverstone has reportedly pulled out of How I Met Your Mother after learning that Britney Spears had bagged a guest spot on the quirky U.S. TV sitcom.
The proper actress was set to star alongside Britney, after the singer's agent agreed a deal with producers - with her father’s approval.
However, Pink Is The New Blog is now reporting that Alicia has pulled out of the show because she feared being "overshadowed" by the pop wreck's presense.
A source told TMZ yesterday that Britney's foray into TV was "a small legitimate project that will keep her busy doing something."

March 10, 2008 - Some rather notable guest stars will be appearing on How I Met Your Mother when the series returns with new post-strike episodes in April and May. On the heels of news last week that Alicia Silverstone will be guest starring on the show, comes TVGuide.com's confirmation that none other than Britney Spears will also be showing up on an upcoming episode.
TMZ, who first broke the news about Spears, says it will just be a one-time appearance and that her father and current conservator (in the wake of Spears' well-documented recent legal trouble) has signed off on her How I Met Your Mother gig.
On the flipside, TV Guide's Michael Ausiello says Silverstone will have an important multi-episode role on the show, as a doctor who will be a love interest for the main character, Ted (Josh Radnor). Ausiello wonders if Silverstone could even end up being the as yet unrevealed mother of the title.

Actress took eight years to say 'I do' to husband
Alicia Silverstone admits it took her just under a decade to respond to her husband's marriage proposal.
The Hollywood actress, 31, walked down the aisle with rock singer Christopher Jarecki in June 2005, but it was only after she'd given the matter some serious thought.
'I didn't want to be married because I was still in my early 20s and I didn't like the prospect of calling myself a wife,' Alicia tells Condé Nast Brides.
'We finally married in a simple, small wedding at lake Tahoe, Nevada, eight years after his proposal and after two years I now love calling myself a wife.'
